A bit of luck
In the DAR restaurant, friendly faces meet delicious food and drinks – and wonderfully colourful table linen.
Table linen Erik and Smilla an evening at the DAR in Zurich.
A glass of Rosé Cava Brut from Barcelona in your hand, a nice chat, a hint of oriental sounds in your ear and a seductive scent – that scent! – in the air. That’s the start of a successful evening. An evening at the DAR restaurant in Zurich. This is where a few friends meet for a cosy get-together on a Thursday evening in March.
We’re here too, Maria and Laura from inyourface, amies of the lavie crew and copywriters. And together with Caro, Oli and Coni from lavie, we’re here for a reason, of course. And the reason is colourful and beautiful and on the table: the new table linen collections, Erik and Smilla from lavie, can now be seen, tested and experienced at DAR. And they look great on the beautiful wooden tables, under the Mediterranean, colourfully patterned plates and bowls. The walls are also colourfully tiled and we feel like we’re in a pretty restaurant in the middle of Portugal. Kim, our photographer, takes the opportunity to capture the products in action for us. And watches the others enjoying themselves – keep your eyes open when choosing a job! We ourselves concentrate entirely on the food.
Because the food at DAR is not only good, but also plentiful. The dishes are all seasonal – when the season changes, so does the menu. We order the DAR Sharing Experience, a selection of various Spanish-Moroccan delicacies in three courses – all vegan. As the meal begins, the sociability diminishes somewhat and everyone concentrates on enjoying the food. The waitress explains each dish individually. We don’t understand everything, but we are very excited. And we are not disappointed. A harira soup with chickpeas, lentils and chebakia – oh! Calçots with almond romesco and smoked crème fraîche – more please! Bulgur kefta balls with spicy sauce – we like! And for dessert? An almond cheesecake with quince compote and white chocolate and a baked apple on orange blossom cream and crunchy granola. Sharing is fun, and handing over the food brings people together.
But at some point, even the best evening comes to an end: after dessert is before sleep, a few faces grow longer, the first guests say goodbye. Bye, see you soon, we’ll be back at the DAR!
