The fabrics we live in every day should feel good and keep up with real life. Our forward-thinking Bananatex® collection brings textile innovation into the present—whether in Liam bed linen or easy, everyday loungewear.
Our new fabric combines 50% organic cotton with 50% Bananatex®, a plant-based fibre derived from the abaca plant. The result is a flowing, soft fabric that feels cool and pleasantly dry against the skin.
The true quality of a material shows in the pieces we use and wash every day. Made with Abacá fibre—one of nature’s strongest—the fabric keeps its shape and stays comfortably soft over time.
From plant to fabric: the making of Bananatex®.
It all begins with the Abacá plant, a wild-growing banana species from the Philippines that thrives in established permaculture systems alongside cacao and teak trees. It requires neither artificial irrigation nor pesticides and can be harvested year-round without harming the plant.
After harvest, the fibres are extracted on site and processed into a fine pulp, similar to traditional papermaking. This pulp is spun into uniform yarns and then woven into a durable fabric. Every step takes place in specialised facilities and is fully traceable along the supply chain.
This is how a rapidly renewable plant fibre is transformed into a textile material that unites natural origin with modern processing—from leaf to finished product.

The 50/50 blend of cotton and Bananatex® strikes the right balance: soft against the skin and comfortable for a good night’s sleep. Cotton provides familiar softness, while the abacá fibre adds a fine, dry structure that helps regulate warmth and moisture.
Its strength becomes apparent over time. Abacá is among the strongest natural fibres, helping the fabric stay beautiful for longer without feeling heavy. Even with frequent washing, this bedding retains its shape and keeps its pleasant surface in the long run.
