Of course, everyone can claim this, so we need proof: we rely on the bioRe® Sustainable Cotton seal of approval for our plaids and Tilda towels. The certification guarantees that the traded cotton comes from controlled organic cultivation on small farms in India and Tanzania. Farmers only use GMO-free seeds for cultivation. In addition to the ecological requirements, the certification also ensures ethical principles: the cotton trader – in our case Remei AG – favours participatory and direct cooperation with the local farmers. And ensures a certain continuity through a multi-year purchase commitment. As an additional incentive, our partner Remei offers an organic premium of 15% above the local market price.
